What is the value card program?

The value card program allows you to pay for parking on a per use basis.  There are two types of value card programs:

1. Pre-tax Value Card Program: You will use your i-card to access the lot for the number of days selected (4, 6, or 8) per month at a rate of $9.00 per use. You can switch your access here.
2. Value Ticket Program:  UIC students only.

If you plan on working a hybrid schedule and will be on campus four to either times per month, you can transfer from a standard assignment to the Pre-tax Value Card. The Pre-tax Value Card Program will enable you to have limited access to your assigned parking lot. Instead of paying for a full month of parking, you will have the option of paying based on a number of uses: $36.00, $54.00, or $72.00 (based on your selection) which can e a significant cost savings. You will not be allowed access to the lost when you meet the maximum number of access times. Because these deductions are pre-tax, there are no refunds. The value card program allows you to pay for parking on a per use basis.  There are two types of value cards: Pre-tax Value Card and Value Tickets.

• For the Pre-tax Value Card, parking funds are replenished via payroll deductions (faculty and staff only). Your i-card is used to access your assigned parking lot.
• For the Value Ticket, a UIC student must visit a parking office with a valid i-card, to purchase a ticket for $9.00. Currently, the value tickets can be used at any available visitor parking lot. The value tickets expire each academic year and are non-refundable and can’t be replaced. Treat them as you would cash.

No.  If you reached the maximum number of monthly uses for which you are enrolled, you will need to park in a visitor lot and pay the posted daily rate.

No. The previous month balance will not be transferred to the following month.

There are no refunds, credits or exchanges for unused or expired value tickets.

There are no refunds or credits for any unused balance on the pre-tax value card.

Upon exiting, your card will be charged for each day you were in the parking lot.  After 72 hours, your vehicle will be ticketed and listed as abandoned which may result in the towing of your vehicle at your expense.

Reserved parking assignments can not be suspended and are not eligible for the Pre-tax Value Card Program.

The value card program is only available for 24 -hour parking assignments.  It would be more economical to purchase evening parking stickers from the Parking Office.  The parking stickers can only be used in visitor parking lots when there is a cashier in the booth.

No. The value card program is only for benefits eligible employees and UIC students.

You will need to pay the daily rate at the parking lot or purchase a new value ticket at the Parking Office.
